Drain plug on the primary is stripped, are there larger plugs available if I can tap it? Thanks _________________ Whatever it is, it's better in the wind. |

Tom, I think I'd might heli coil that one. Or put an oversize self tapper from the auto parts store in it. If I was in a hurry I'd prolly just tap it with a pipe tap and put a pipe plug in it. OR weld it up and drill and tap it to stock size. If I remember corectly you isolated your primary so I wouldn't worry about it being a magnetic plug. _________________ Steve

Thanks Steve. I'm not in a real hurry at the moment, since I'll be pulling the heads anyway. The stock plug has a magnet on the end which I think is a good idea. _________________ Whatever it is, it's better in the wind. |

+1......I'd just tap it out bigger and use a short bolt.
For my Chevy engine I made my own magnetic plug. I couldn't use a magnet on the pan 'cause it's aluminum, so I used HD primary technology. I drilled the plug an JB welded a couple little magnets in. They were little refrigerator magnets, about 3/16 diameter, but they're strong little things. _________________ DB Smith |
