Hey yall, On my Pan, I am going to run a mag. I want to run with no battery. Do I need a special regulator or can I simply run an eliminator (big capacitor)? I ran a mag on an old triumph but I don't remember how I did it. Was a lonnnggg time ago. My first pan did not have a battery and I ran a mag, but it came that way (I didn't build it.)
Also since it has been quite some time since I ran a mag, any tips to make it easier to get it started first time? I do remember you kick it different with a mag, but its been over 20 years since I ran a mag.

I ran a mag on my '66 xlch without a battery. I just ran a battery eliminator like you said. Didn't keep it long so don't know how well it worked out. It started normal for me.
