Ok, got to start getting some ideas for next winter. What I have in mind is getting a shovel basket if I can, running or not, and have my son do most of the work in my garage. Then, depending on how that works out, I may let him ride it for awhile. There are running bikes locally that need a little work for $3-$4000, maybe if I haggle some I can score a deal over the summer. Got any ideas?

Tom, I would try to buy now, before winter is over, or wait till next winter. Prices around here are better in cold weather. I would assume that is the same up there.
If you end up with a motor/trans rather than a whole bike, I have a brand new never up on wheels 81 FLH frame, factory replacement from HD I bought in 2002, it is titled here, is clear, all I did to it was take off the fatbob mounts. lemme know.
Blessings

Thanks Dennis, not sure I'll have much money but I want something to do next winter, this one was fun. Maybe I'll do something totally different and unrelated to bikes. We'll see where the Good Lord leads.
Thinking of calling Craig too, maybe he as some kind of project I can work on with my son.
