Now the little things pop up, but better here than on the road! Got back from that 380 mile ride to notice the left tank is seeping out fuel again, and now that the weather's been hotter the motor is pinging when taking off in first gear and a little in higher gears. I do have a VOES with this Dyna 2000i ignition. Used Steve's vacuum gauge and foud out the switch is activating at 5 inches of vacuum and increased it to 7. Will get the tank back this week and hopefully back on the road soon enough to get to Oklahoma.
P.S. did everyone else also get the message recently here on this site that it had expired? Thanks to Daryl for keeping the light on here!! _________________ Whatever it is, it's better in the wind. |

Thanks Steve, do you think you'll be at shovelfest this year?
When my friend Steve and I swapped bikes on our recent ride, I noticed that the rear wheel looked off center and made a mental note of it. Got a new chain and checking things out when I noticed the left side axle adjuster nut is stripped, which is making the chain loose again and the wheel out of alignment. Ok, one more thing to fix, but a lot easier to do it at home than on the road!! _________________ Whatever it is, it's better in the wind. |

Won't be there this year Tom. My sister and niece are coming in from GA this weekend and my wifes son is getting married the weekend after the fest. Just don't give us enough time to drive 1400 miles each way. I sure liked the sf1 labor day timing much better. _________________ Steve |

Sorry you won't be there Steve, but I understand about the family committments.
Got my tank fixed and installed, new rear chain and VOES re-calibrated. A little test run tonight and hear a chattering from the inner primary. Just put a new chain in there and tightened up the M6 tensioner too...... can't have that making noise on the trip. _________________ Whatever it is, it's better in the wind. |
